The hornets spent all summer building it. Nobody asked why it has teeth.
A paper nest hangs from a bare autumn branch, layered in bands of amber and rust and shaped, unmistakably, like a skull. Hornets drift in and out of the eye sockets and the open jaw while the last leaves come down around it. Beside it a storm lantern swings on a length of rope, still lit, left by whoever came to look and didn't stay.
It's printed on a garment-dyed heavyweight tee in 100% ring-spun cotton. The fabric is thick and structured but soft from the first wear, with a relaxed fit that works at the table, at a show or on an ordinary Tuesday.
