You bought one dice set. Then another for your new character. Then one because it matched your cat. If your collection has outgrown your campaigns, congratulations: you may be a dice goblin.
The definition
"Dice goblin" is the tabletop community's affectionate name for someone who collects far more dice than they could ever roll. Dice goblins buy sets for their looks, sort them by color, name their favorites and have strong opinions about sharp edges.
Signs you're a dice goblin
- You own more dice sets than characters.
- You've bought dice for a character you haven't made yet.
- You've put a set in "dice jail" after a bad session.
- You own at least one set you're too scared to roll.
- You say "just looking" at the dice shelf, and then you aren't.
Types of goblins
- The Metalhead: only heavy metal dice will do. See our Cthulhu Bloodline and Elder Glowing Gods sets.
- The Glitter Wizard: the sparklier, the better. Resistance is futile: Resisting Glitter is Futile.
- The Theme Collector: every character gets a matching set. Vampire campaign? Vampiric Bloodline.
- The Sharp-Edge Purist: crisp edges or nothing. Try the Sapphire Burst set.
Feeding the hoard responsibly
A healthy hoard is a well-stored hoard. Keep each set in its own bag or vault, roll in a tray to avoid chips, and store metal dice apart from resin.
Wear your goblin status with pride. Our Axolotl pin, a winged axolotl sitting on a pile of treasure, understands you completely.
