A dice collection starts innocently. One set for your first character, then a second for your warlock, then a glittery set you simply couldn't resist. Before long you have a hoard. Here's how to keep it safe.
1. Roll in a tray
The easiest way to protect your dice, and your table, is a dice tray. A padded surface keeps sharp-edged resin dice from chipping and stops heavy metal dice from denting wood. It also keeps rolls from bouncing onto the floor where the cat is waiting. Browse our faux leather rolling trays.
2. Give each set a home

3. Keep metal and resin apart
Metal dice are harder than resin. Tossed together in one bag, they can scratch or chip softer dice. Store metal sets in their own pouch or vault.
4. Clean gently
Wipe dice with a soft cloth. For grime, use lukewarm water with a drop of mild soap, then dry thoroughly. Avoid alcohol or harsh cleaners on painted numbers and plated metal.
5. Keep them out of the sun
Long exposure to direct sunlight and heat can fade colors or warp some resins. A shelf out of the window's glare is best.
6. Label your hoard
If you own a lot of similar sets, a small tag on each bag or vault saves time at the table, and saves you from accidentally rolling your friend's lucky D20.
